Dream officials have been forced to make a last minute change to this weekend’s “DREAM: Japan GP Final” event.
Originally scheduled to face DREAM welterweight champion, Marius Zaromskis, Hayato Sakurai has been forced off the card with injury and in his place Pancrase vet Eiji Ishikawa.
“DREAM: Japan GP Final” is scheduled to take place July 16 from the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan.
Undefeated in DREAM, Zaromskis has currently lost three of his last four bouts outside of the promotion he holds the title in.
Ishikawa is an 11 year MMA veteran. Having won four of his last five fights, he will make his DREAM debut against their champ this weekend.
Due to the last minute nature of the booking this fight has been set at a 174 pound catch weight bout and the DREAM title will not be on the line.
The latest “DREAM: Japan GP Final” card now includes:
• Champ Gegard Mousasi vs. Hiroshi Izumi (for light-heavyweight title)
• Champ Hiroyuki Takaya vs. Kazuyuki Miyata (for featherweight title)
• Champ Marius Zaromskis vs. Eiji Ishikawa (welterweight non-title fight)
• Masakazu Imanari vs. Hideo Tokoro (Japan bantamweight-tourney finale)
• Keisuke Fujiwara vs. Kenji Osawa (Japan bantamweight-tourney third-place fight)
• Tatsuya Mizuno vs. Trevor Prangley
• Drew Fickett vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri
• Bruno Carvalho vs. Eiji Mitsuoka
