UFC officials recently announced the addition of a heavyweight bout to the growing UFC 136 event slated for Oct. 8.
Joey Beltran has agreed to take on UFC newcomer Stipe Miocic live on pay-per-view from the Toyota Center in Houston.
Beltran was last seen in a third-round TKO stoppage of Aaron Rosa at UFC 131. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak to teammates Matt Mitrione and Pat Barry and likely salvaged his UFC life.
Miocic is an undefeated prospect hailing from the great state of Ohio. He will enter the UFC with a perfect 6-0 record all coming way of strikes. He is a former Cleveland State University wrestler and Golden Gloves champ.
The promotion did not indicate where the fight will be placed on the evening’s roster.
