Strikeforce officials recently announced a light-heavyweight pairing between former champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante and promotional rookie Yoel Romero.
The bout is expected to take place on the yet to be made official Sept 10 event serving as the second round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.
Cavalcante hasn’t seen action since losing his light-heavyweight title to Dan Henderson earlier this year at “Strikeforce: Columbus”. The defeat snapped a three-fight win streak for the Black House trained fighter.
Romero comes into the contest with a perfect 4-0 record. Hailing from Germany, he competed and won a silver medal at the 2000 summer Olympic Games as a wrestler.
No official word was given on the bouts placement on the card.
