“I’m looking for a second-round knockout. I’m really going to try to bring it to him in the first round. A lot of pressure, a lot of level changes, a lot of explosiveness. I’m going to be throwing big punches from the outside to get inside and then once I’m inside, dirty boxing, clinch. I kind of want it to be an ugly fight. Then second round, I’m just going to kick it up a notch. I have the gas tank. I’d already been training for this fight. Even though it’s short notice, I’m in great shape. I’m going to be able to bring it for all 15 minutes.”
Strikeforce middleweight fighter, Tim Kennedy, tells the guys over at sherdog.com that he intends to knockout MMA veteran, Robbie Lawler during their scheduled meeting for this weekend’s “Fedor vs. Henderson” card.
While Kennedy typically relies on a ground assault to best his opponents, he is at least campaigning to go toe-to-toe with one of the most viscous strikers in the game.
Anyone buying it?
Im not buying it, no. I’d expect Kennedy to want to get Robbie on his back ASAP right off the bat. If he does try an go toe 2 toe with Robbie it’ll be interesting because Robbie can bang an Kennedy’ never been stopped. Reckon Kennedy gets a submission or wins a decision. Good fight on paper, we’ll see.
Noway he’s gonna try to stand with Lawlar. He didn;t want to stand with Manhoef. Lawlar dont buy it.
