DREAM officials announced today that the upcoming DREAM 17 event will take place on September 24 from Japans Saitama Super Arena.
In an effort to adapt to the global landscape of MMA, DREAM officials have opted to get rid of their 10-minute first round and go with the more traditional three 5-minute rounds as is common with the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts.
Prior to DREAM 17, all fights contested under their banner started with an opening 10-minute round followed by an additional 5-minute round.
As far as the evenings fight card is concerned, only one bout is currently official for the event and that comes in the form of Takeshi Inoue vs. Caol Uno in a featherweight match-up.
Broadcasting plans for the event have not been released and it is unclear if American audiences will be able to catch the event live.

Wtf no. 10 minute round and 5 minute round is the best.
I’ll agree with that. Half the first round is usually fighters getting settled. After UFC, Dream is probably next on the list for me. Something about the Dream Series Fights I like.
