UFC officials took to twitter today to announce a welterweight fight between Daniel “Ninja” Roberts and T.J. Waldburger set for the upcoming “UFC on Versus 6” fight card.
“UFC on Versus 6: Cruz vs. Johnson” takes place from our nation’s capitol on Oct. 1 from the Verizon Center in Washington DC. The evenings main card will air live on the Versus sports network and feature a main event between Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson for the UFC’s bantamweight title.
Roberts trains at the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy alongside the Diaz brothers and other notable Cesar Gracie products. Roberts has seen mixed results inside the Octagon going 3-3 in his last six bouts.
Waldburger made his UFC debut with a decision victory over David Mitchell at Fight night 22. He was last seen in a TKO loss to Johny Hendricks at “UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis”. The Hendricks loss snapped a four-fight win streak.
The bout is expected for the preliminary portion of the card.
