The strain between Alistair Overeem’s camp, Golden Glory, and Zuffa seems to be at an all time high, as former Strikeforce woman’s bantamweight champion, Marloes Coenen, Valentijn Overeem, and Jon Olav Einemo, have all been cut from their spots under the Strikeforce/UFC umbrella. The news was first broken on Twitter by Martin de Jong, the head coach for Golden Glory, and only days after the promotion decided to cut Strikeforce Heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem.
Valentijn Overeem last fought at Strikeforce “Overeem vs. Werdum” this past June , where he was defeated by Chad Griggs via first round stoppage. Einemo was also last seen in action this past June where he was defeated by Dave Herman at UFC 131 via second round TKO. As for the former women’s 135lb champion, she was just in action this past weekend, where she was submitted by Meisha Tate via arm triangle in the fourth round. What is Interesting to note is that all of these fighters were cut after only losing one fight, not consecutive, which seems to be the norm for most fighters under contract to Zuffa/Strikeforce. Is Golden Glory now on an unofficial ban from all Zuffa promotions?

i think M-1 global and Golden Glory should team up and try to do their own thing. GG has a lot of world class fighters and M-1 has decent talent. Maybe they can start their own thing and try to get a foothold in Europe. The UFC is basically invading everything right now.
