Dream officials announced today the addition of a featherweight bout to their September show in the form of Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Joachim Hansen.
DREAM 17 takes place from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on September 24.
A longtime face of Japanese MMA, Kawajiri has spent the bulk of his career in the lightweight division. After a 2-2 stint in his last four outings, the famed Japanese brawler is ready to test the waters in the DREAM featherweight division against his former foe, Joachim Hansen.
Hansen is the former Dream lightweight champion; however, after losing his title to Shinya Aoki in 2009 he hit the fills for the 145 pound weight class. Hansen brings to the fight a three-fight win streak that includes victories over Ishida, Aziz and Tokoro.
The two previously fought in a 2006 SHOOTO event but the bout ended in just eight seconds after Hansen was disqualified for an illegal groin kick that awarded Kawajiri the victory.

Kawajiri was a powerful LW. He’s gonna tko Joachim in the first.
