Henderson vs. Guida Plus Yamamoto vs. Uyenoyama Added To UFC on Fox

The first ever UFC on Fox event has booked two more bouts for the inaugural card.

Lightweight contenders Benson Henderson and Clay Guida as well as bantamweight fighters “Kid” Yamamoto and Darren Uyenoyama have agreed to face off on the historic card.

UFC on Fox 1 is set to take place on November 12 from the Honda Center in Anaheim California. The historic event will feature a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos for Free on FOX TV.

In what is likely going to determine the next number one contender to the UFC lightweight crown, Ben Henderson and Clay Guida will both square off against each other in an attempt to stake claim to the winner of Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard III.

Henderson was last seen dispatching Jim Miller in an upset victory that knocked Miller out of the title hunt. The win marked his second in the UFC as well as his second since losing his WEC title in the last ever WEC event to Anthony “Showtime” Pettis.

Guida has been making his case for a shot at UFC gold since the middle of last year when he started what is now a four-fight UFC winning streak. He was last seen this past June when he upset the UFC’s number-one contender, Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision. He too has been campaigning for a title shot since the victory.

In bantamweight action, Japanese stand-out, “Kid” Yamamoto, was last seen at UFC 126. It was his debut with the organization and after a three-round battle with current title challenger “Might Mouse” Johnson he fell short via unanimous decision. He will look to rebound against Uyenoyama in his second UFC appearance.

Uyenoyama is a UFC newcomer who hasn’t seen action in a year. His last outing was a victory over Shuichiro Katsumura in the Shooto organization.

Sickkkk, Im saying bendo by murder fuck guidas stalling good luck trying too do that too bendo he is a whole different breed!!!

    War Henderson!!!

  2. Daniel

Wait, Guida stalls? I’ve never seen Guida in a boring fight but maybe that’s just me.

    • bob

      watch his last fight

    • I agree with u, but against Showtime he showed us his boring side.

      • dontbescaredhomie

Real talk, Watch his last fight actually don’t…. You will probably fall asleep… Gudia has no chance i really doubt he can stand with bendo and for sure can’t out wrestle him. I mean everytime i think of gudias stand up i i just remember how bad diego and kenny put it on him. So i don’t know how gudia expects too win against the future champ. I guess it’s back too gatekeeper status for him?

  3. Ly-er_Ly-er

Now thats what I’m talking about! Gonna be freaken sweet!!!

    • andy

yeah pettis was to good standing but i do think after the guida fight he knows he has to work on his defense clay beat petis but hendo lost to petis because he stood up and tried to bang for 5 rounds which guida did not

  4. chad

    henderson loses by choke

    • ThaGreenBandit

We’re all gonna assume you’re joking. You are joking, right?

    • GeeJuan

When has Ben ever been tapped out?? Go back and see he fought Cerrone back in the WEC. Any other person would have tapped out on any of those submission attempts. Henderson will take the fight to Guida and tap him out.

  5. jc1

    loser cuts their hair!

  6. Ben is goin to smash clay

  7. I used to like seeing Guida fight, but if he keeps this fighting style he used on Pettis I’m not going to root for him anymore, cause that was just ffing boring. It was a waste of my time, after that fight I was like: Damn I could have spent this time usefully, instead watching a guy lay on another guy dryhumping.

    • Joe

that fight made me like pettis even more, through the lay and pray tactics, pettis still found moments to try and be flashy and entertaining, like that kick attempt while getting up,

  8. Alex

Chad there is noway Guida is choking out Henderson so stop embarrising yourself when you apparently havent watched Henderson fight!

  9. ThaGreenBandit

Guida gets his lunch taken in this fight.

  10. Guida been trying to avoid Ben.. Bendo will out strike and out muscle Guida. Ben will finish the fight before the 2nd round is over!

    • ThaGreenBandit

Holy shit! Uh, the planets must be out of alliance, or some crazy sh!t is going on, because I actually agree with you! What the hell…?!

      • GET RID OF FITCH

I can’t wait to see Bendo beat the hell out of Guida. jim miller would beat the hell out of Guida. like the guy said up top back to being where you belong guida as a gatekeeper. Guida is so friggen overrated its embarressing. Bendo by 3 round destruction

      • I called the fight between Ben v Miller.. and ever since Bj and Ben trained together couple years ago and knowing ben’s background I’ve been a fan! He’ll be LW Champ soon! War Bendo..

  11. Neil

I can’t believe Guillard isn’t in this fight against hendo or guida he is the number one contender. He finished all the last recent names they put in front of him since moving to jackson and has a longer fight winning streak. UFC your a joke holding back the best.

    • Guillard will get his chance, but Henderson beat Miller and Guida has beaten Pettis. Which are both significant better opponents than the ones Guillard finished. So it’s not that strange Henderson and Guida are going to decide which one of them can get the shot at whoever owns the belt after the Edgar-Maynard fight……But that’s just my opinion.

  12. joshy

Going to be an awesome fight!! Just wondering when the UFC is going to let us know how we are going to be able to watch the rest of the card.

  13. Chris

    Love this picture.

  14. Trane

Clay will destroy him!!! Mark my words…

  15. zack

henderson will win this fight. all clay has is a chin and wrestling. well henderson has a great chin and better wrestling then guida. guida was getting picked apart by pettis standing up. i see hendo dominating in all areas of the fight
