November 2nd 12:15:06 PM PST

10 seconds or 25 minutes, the UFC on Fox main event is the lone fight to air on TV Nov. 12

The UFC’s introduction to the FOX audience is upon us.

Featuring a heavyweight title fight between Junior Dos Santos and champion, Cain Velasquez, the evening’s headliner is the only fight to air on the UFC’s new broadcasting partner.

With 10 other fights scheduled on the night, the UFC and FOX executives have opted to stream these fights live on both FOX.com and facebook.com.

UFC president Dana White confirmed the news during today’s pre-fight media call.

While on the call he stated that it does not matter if the fight last 25-minutes or 10-seconds, the broadcast will only include the main event of the evening and re-airs of the nights prior bouts will not be used to fill the hour long time slot.

UFC on Fox 1 is set to take place from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on November 12. Headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion, Cain Velasquez and contender, Junior Dos Santos the event marks the first UFC event on the network and the start of a 7-year broadcast deal between the two sports powerhouses.

If the main event turns into a positional ground battle lasting 25 minutes, the UFC’s introduction to a national audience could flop. Apparently that is a gamble the executives are prepared to make.

The full lineup for the night is as follows:

MAIN CARD: (FOX)
• Champ Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos (for heavyweight title)

PRELIMINARY CARD: (Facebook and FOX.com)
• Clay Guida vs. Ben Henderson
• Pablo Garza vs. Dustin Poirier
• Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto vs. Darren Uyenoyama
• Ricardo Lamas vs. Cub Swanson
• Clay Harvsion vs. DaMarques Johnson
• Robert Peralta vs. Mackens Semerzier
• Paul Bradley vs. Mike Pierce
• Matt Lucas vs. Aaron Rosa
• Alex Caceres vs. Cole Escovedo

Henderson vs Guida and the main event should be the two, this is one of the biggest mistakes they are making with the FOX shit.

    • b_lum

They can’t show anymore than this fight. They’re still under contract with spike until the end of the year…

    • Mike McMack

If the Championship fight goes the distance it will take up the whole hour anyways so this is how they gotta do it. Remember, this is just an appetizer for us fight fans, the UFC plans on putting their biggest stars on the FOX cards to promote their product. Look back on a stacked card like UFC 100 or 126, you can start to get an idea of what kind of fights they’ll have on there. I think Cain and JDS will give us an entertaining 5 round war so I’m happy, this fight has the potential to be FOTY with how these two guys fight.

  2. Delta

So what the Hell are they going to do TO fill the time? Even if it goes the full 5 rounds, are they going to have about a half-hour of commercials?

    • Mike McMack

Remember that this event is introducing first time viewers to MMA so theres going to be a little bit of jabber about what this sport is all about, and yeah lots of commercials. But commercials are much better than paying $50 every ppv. Heck I’d love for every event to have commercials if I could watch them all for free.

  3. Mellow Fellow

WOW!!!! UFC big mistake thats hella dumb Guida Vs Henderson should be included on FOX. give us fans wat we want. does any1 know were the other fights gunna be on?

  4. CW

Boooo. What’s the point? Come on Guida Vs Henderson is a fight EVERYONE wants to see and not on our computers. MISTAKE!!!

  5. The_Gooch1

This could be a disaster. A lot of pressure for both fighters. I hope they don’t get injured during the fight. Or somebody gets hit in the balls and can’t continue fighting. That would suck

  6. Kdog170

ur kidding right?! thats fucking stupid!

  7. Chris

Is it lame Guida-Henderson isnt on here? Yes. Is it still a huge free fight? Yes.

  8. Delta

It is true!! People will always find something to complain about!!

  9. johnyfz450

ok well this is a bad way to start shit off. What about the fans that dont have a computer i obviously do but im sure there is people that dont and what about the people that go to the bars to see fights. They had a good thing goin with spike i thought shit after all that is the mans network as they call it .Anyway what time do these start and are all of the fights gonna be done like this.

    • Delta

One thing I’ve noticed people don’t seem to know(in a few different places) is this is just kinda a sample/test run. The deal with FOX doesn’t officially start until next year. Since they’ve been saying this is just a teaser, I would think that when the deal officially starts next year that they won’t be doing this sort of thing, one fight and the rest streamed online.

So I’m expecting more like the events they show on SPIKE, only maybe they’ll have even higher profile cards, considering the first taste is such a large title fight.

  10. Jeebers

So plus your computer into your 60′ LED. All it takes it a simple little cord. Use that thing in your head.

    • Delta

You don’t need to be a computer guy to figure it out, just 10 minutes searching the Internet and to not be a COMPLETE idiot.

      • Delta

They’d have to exist to have weight.

And the funny thing is, I wasn’t calling you an idiot. I was simply pointing out even someone stupid could figure out of to hook it up if they take some time researching. That they just can’t be a TOTAL idiot. You’re the one who took offense. Did I hit too close to home?

    • Chris

They’d have to exist to have taste too…

      • Delta

Damn you Chris, stealing my thunder!! I was supposed to be the one to point that out!! eh I guess I should’ve come back to my computer sooner.

      • Delta

We both “no” they exist? So you’re admitting they don’t exist? Or do you mean “know?” Can you ever make a post that doesn’t fuck-up somewhere?

  11. lmnopz

    First world problems…

Your 60′ TV will a VGA input…hook your computer up to it dummy

  12. DeepSeaGod

Why not make it a pey per view then?! Hell this card is better than ufc 138!

  13. BobbO

Like others have already said, it’s a big mistake to not air Guida vs Henderson which will most likely end up being fight of the night. Foolish business decision. ~BobbO

  14. Digs

I hate watching fights on facebook. Slow as shit

    • Respectexpected

Oh really? where did you watch the prelims before they started airing on Facebook? I will say that the time they also offered them on a youtube livestream, the youtube stream was much better picture and quality. but seriously don’t complain about seeing all the prelim fights for free these days, you used to not be able to see them…

      • TheBraveReply

I have watched the last 4 prelims on FB and i have to say I have never had a bad or slow connection. Maybe its your computer thats slow and not the feed. Just a thought.

  15. momo

i like that cuse that means they will filter the bad and only put the good.

  16. Respectexpected

    Trololololololololol
Most people want Ben to win but the executives know that if Clay wins most new mma viewers will have switched the channel or turned off the tv before the title fight even happens

  17. magoo

    fkn gay………..SPIKE~!

  18. mmaislandjunkie

so one fight and if it ends withing 5 minutes theyre gonna have analysts talk about the fight for 50 minutes. lame.

  19. law

i guess pac vs marquez overshadows the ufc’s first airing via FOX. it’s a good card, but they opted to clash with MANNY PACQUIAO. what were they thinking? @_@
