Rafael dos Anjos hints at next opponent
While there has been much speculation as to who will get the next lightweight title shot now that Conor McGregor has been booked to fight Nate Diaz in a rematch at UFC 200, Rafael dos Anjos already has an opponent in mind.
During a recent appearance on Inside MMA, where RDA also revealed that he will be ready to fight in July, he hinted at a fight with Eddie Alvarez.
“Maybe they have different plans for me. I need to defend my title against Eddie Alvarez. I think he is maybe the No. 1 contender,” dos Anjos said. “He is coming off a victory over Anthony Pettis, a former champion. But I told them, I fight anybody, any weight.”
Alvarez is riding a 2-fight win streak that saw him defeat Gilbert Melendez via controversial split decision. Most recently however, Alvarez defeated former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.
