David Feldman says there are “top-20 pound-for-pound” boxers who are in talks with BKFC: “You won’t believe it”
BKFC founder David Feldman says fans won’t believe the boxers they are in talks with to sign with their sans gloves promotion.
At BKFC 57 on Feb. 2, pro boxer Austin Trout won the BKFC welterweight title with a decision win over Luis Palomino. It was just his second fight in the sans gloves promotion as he beat Diego Sanchez in his debut.
But, Austin Trout even signing with BKFC was a surprise as he is the former WBA light middleweight champion in boxing and still remains a title contender. However, he decided to go to BKFC and after the success he has had, Feldman says some high-level boxers have reached out to express interest in fighting for his promotion.
“My man, if it wouldn’t ruin what I am about to do I would show you this last text message and you will see the names of the boxers that are trying to come over and you won’t believe it. You would be like ‘there is no way they are going to bare-knuckle.’ There is no way they want to fight for BKFC and a couple of them are in the top 20 pound-for-pound fighters in the world right now,” David Feldman said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com.
“It’s crazy, but I take my hat off to Austin Trout for giving us a shot and us giving him a shot and giving him a shot at the title and making the most of it. Seeing a high-level boxer that has been in there with some of the best boxers in the world, compete and do well in BKFC, that really helps us with these other boxers that want to come in,” Feldman continued.
What boxers are interested in BKFC is uncertain, but David Feldman hopes it can be finalized soon and promises it will shock many.
