BKFC to begin creating pension accounts for fighters

The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has powered on as a dominant force in the bare-knuckle boxing world. To give back to the athletes, they’re now working on pension plans. “Our fighters are the most important asset of the company.” ‘We want to ensure that they are compensated not only on the night of the fight but also looked after in retirement. Tim Kennedy teases return in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship

Tim Kennedy has proven to be a man with little to no fears. After some time away from MMA and re-enlisting in the U.S. Army Special Forces, he appears ready for a comeback. Tuesday, Kennedy took to his Instagram where he posted a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) image with “Time for a comeback” slapped over it. In the caption, the former Strikeforce title challenger said; “Big things coming. Rehab first, fisticuffs second.”

BKFC fighter Sheena Brandenburg charged in deadly hit-and-run

BKFC fighter Sheena Brandenburg has been charged in a deadly hit-and-run stemming from this past summer that left one man dead. According to 9&10 News, “State police say Sheena Brandenburg hit a motorcyclist from behind around 1 a.m. in August and drove away. The rider, Grayling resident Troy Lambert, died of his injuries. Both Brandenburg and Lambert were at a local tavern before the crash. Brandenburg, a 37-year-old Gaylord resident, has had a warrant out for her arrest since October. Police received a tip in November that she was living in Missouri. She was arrested by local law enforcement and extradited back to Michigan for her arraignment on March 8. Brandenburg is charged with reckless driving and failing to stop at the scene of a deadly accident. Her bond is set at $250,000.”

Paige VanZant will reportedly return to the BKFC ring for a fight with a “well-known name” sometime this summer. VanZant who achieved massive fame as a member of the UFC roster, signed with BKFC late last year, and finally made her debut with the bare knuckle promotion in early February. While she came up short in her debut, losing a decision to Britain Hart, she had plenty of success in the matchup and wowed many onlookers with her toughness.

Leonard Garcia booked for third bare-knuckle boxing match since MMA retirement

Featherweight fan favorite and WEC alum Leonard Garcia retired from MMA in 2014. In 2019, however, he returned to action for some bare-knuckle boxing. 1-1 in his first two Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) appearances, Garcia is now set to headline the promotion’s next event. On March 19, “Bad Boy” will be taking on Joe Elmore (2-0 in BKB, 13-12 in MMA) in the Biloxi Civic Center in Mississippi. The co-main event will feature a bantamweight showdown pitting 46-year-old former WBO junior welterweight champion DeMarcus Corley (55-33-1 in boxing) against BKFC stalwart Reggie Barnett Jr. (5-2 in BKB, 3-4 in MMA).

VanZant will make her BKFC debut opposite boxer turned bare-knuckle fighter Britain Hart, a woman widely viewed as a tough challenge for the former UFC star. Heading into the matchup, Hart is 1-2 under the BKFC banner.
