Paulie Malignaggi says he would spit on Artem Lobov’s mother

Paulie Malignaggi and Artem Lobov recently got some face time in at the BKFC 6 press conference, and as expected, there was a lot of trash talk.

Most of the trash talk came from the former boxer Malignaggi, who threatened to spit on and even urinate on the Russian MMA veteran Lobov. In fact, he actually did spit at Lobov during their customary face-off.

After this press conference, there was a widespread feeling that Paulie Malignaggi had taken his trash talk a step too far. Yet he assures no lines were crossed on this occasion. He says that lines were crossed in the earlier chapters of his ongoing feud with Lobov and his teammate Conor McGregor, and that everything since then has been fair game.

“I don’t regret it because the line was crossed a long time ago,” Malignaggi told The Mac Life (transcript via MMA Mania). “You can’t take spitting or anything else out of context. This line was crossed two years ago. Once you cross the line, you can’t set a new line. Not only do I not regret it, if his mother was at the press conference, I would have spit on her too. There’s no reason to regret anything. I’m ashamed I couldn’t do more. Once you cross that line with me, we can just go.”

Paulie Malignaggi and Artem Lobov will have the opportunity to settle their differences when they collide in a bare knuckle fight at BFKC 6 on June 22. The bout will go down in Tampa, Florida, and promises to be a wild one for as long as it lasts.
