Page and Lima fought in the semi-finals of the welterweight grand prix where Lima won the bout by knockout. Yet, the Englishman in Page believes he was having a ton of success up until he got caught. So, he remains confident that he can beat the champion.

We could see a fourth fight between lightweight legends as Josh Thomson says he wants to run it back with long-time rival Gilbert Melendez in Bellator. Melendez was released by the UFC last week following a five-fight losing skid and has since been connected to signing with Bellator, with whom he signed an offer sheet five years ago before the UFC matched it. Thomson, who is an analyst for Bellator’s broadcasts on DAZN, is semi-retired at this point, but he is still under contract with the promotion.

Lima recently defeated Rory MacDonald in the finals of the Bellator welterweight Grand Prix. He won the Bellator welterweight title from MacDonald, the Grand Prix, and the $1 million grand prize. It was a win that opened up the eyes of the MMA community to all the improvements Lima has made in his game, as the win over MacDonald proved he’s amongst the elite of the sport’s welterweight fighters.

The former UFC heavyweight champion will make his debut with the Viacom-owned promotion on Friday, December 20 in Hawaii, in the main event of Bellator’s second annual Salute the Troops event. According to the oddsmakers and many MMA fans around the world, Nick Newell was supposed to kick off his new Bellator contract with a victory on Saturday night at Bellator 232. Although the respect levels for his opponent were at an all-time high, Manny Muro had other ideas. Despite being as high as a +550 underdog heading into this past weekend’s event at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., Muro overcame a tough opening round to pick up a split decision win over Newell, much to the dismay of the pro-Newell crowd.
