Boxing star Tyson Fury has opened as the betting favorite to defeat Anthony Joshua in their heavyweight boxing match set for later this year. It was officially announced on Monday that Fury and Joshua have officially signed a two-fight contract to fight each other this summer and then have a rematch at the end of the year. The heavyweight boxing championship will be unified in this massive fight between two of the biggest superstar boxers. With the Fury vs. Joshua fight now official, the sportsbooks have opened up the betting odds for this huge heavyweight title fight. Heavyweight boxing superstars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have officially signed a contract for two boxing matches between the rivals. ESPN’s Mark Kriegel confirmed with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn that both Fury and Joshua have put pen to paper for two boxing matches. There are still more details that need to be ironed out, such as the location and venue, but today’s news that both boxers have signed off on the fight puts the matchup one step closer to becoming a reality.

Tyson Fury may be fighting Deontay Wilder instead of Anthony Joshua next time out. After Fury TKO’d Wilder in February of 2020 in their highly anticipated rematch, many fans wanted to see the Anthony Joshua fight. It would unify the heavyweight division and prove who is the best heavyweight. However, Wilder was campaigning for the trilogy, but recently, talks between Fury and Joshua seemed to progress.

On February 22nd at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, “The Gyspy King” faced Deontay Wilder in their eagerly anticipated-rematch. Tyson Fury was quick to pressure “The Bronze Bomber”. Wilder fell twice in the bout before Fury cornered him in the seventh round and the referee called a stop the action. Unlike their first bout which ended in a draw, Tyson Fury rose victorious by TKO and claimed the WBC, Ring, and Lineal heavyweight titles.

Tyson Fury has his sights on the man who could be his next opponent, and that is Anthony Joshua. “The Gypsy King,” told the fellow British heavyweight that he “missed his chance” to beat Deontay Wilder for the WBC belt, and so their matchup is the one to make. On Saturday night, Fury entered the boxing ring for a monumental rematch against Deontay Wilder. Their 2018 fight ended in a draw, but the Brit made sure that didn’t happen a second time around. Fury managed to knock Wilder down twice before claiming the TKO victory in the seventh round of their rematch.

On that night, Fury seemed to win the majority of the rounds, but Wilder scored a devastating 12th-round knockout that looked like it spelled the end for Fury. Miraculously, ‘The Gypsy King’ was able to recover and the bout was ruled a draw.
