Since entering the UFC in 2015, Usman is a perfect 14-0, and if he beats Covington to go 15-0, it would start putting him into the upper-echelon of MMA fighters who have ever lived. But even though he still has plenty of more potential opponents to fight in the UFC welterweight division, Usman is looking big. And when it comes to combat sports, it doesn’t get much bigger than Canelo Alvarez.

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman could push for a Canelo Alvarez boxing match next, says his manager, Ali Abdelaziz. Usman is one of the best MMA fighters on the planet right now, and on November 6 at UFC 268 in New York City, he rematches his rival Colby Covington for the UFC welterweight title. Usman is a big favorite to win the rematch after knocking out Covington the first time they met two years ago, and if he wins this fight, there won’t be too many fresh challenges left for him at 170lbs. While it’s expected that he could fight someone such as Leon Edwards should he get by Covington next month, his manager is shooting for something bigger.

Paul is 3-0 as a professional boxer and on August 29 he takes on former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in the most high-profile fight of his career to date. Should Paul defeat Woodley, he plans on calling out UFC superstar Conor McGregor. However, he also believes that a fight against Alvarez, the top P4P boxer on the planet, is also feasible.

Anderson Silva praised boxing star Canelo Alvarez following his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., saying “I can’t believe Canelo spoke to me.” Silva won a split decision over Chavez Jr. in his return to the boxing ring for the first time in 16 years. “The Spider” looked fast and elusive in the fight and showed off his trademark striking skills, leading him to pick up the upset win. Though Chavez Jr. is a Mexican-based fighter and Alvarez is as well, following the fight the boxing superstar entered the Octagon and gave his respects to Silva for picking up the biggest win of his boxing career. Boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya accused Canelo Alvarez of ducking Jermell Charlo, and Alvarez issued a scathing response to the accusation. In reply to a post on Instagram of Alvarez teaching a young fighter boxing technique, De La Hoya and Alvarez got into a back-and-forth argument on social media after the Golden Boy executive accused Alvarez of ducking Jermell Charlo. Not only that, but De La Hoya also criticized his former client for his boxing skills, suggesting that Alvarez leads his head up when he throws hooks and that he walks around the ring flat-footed. Alvarez was absolutely livid with the comments that De La Hoya made and he quickly fired back at him.

Fights broke loose in the crowd during Saturday night’s boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders in Dallas, Texas. Alvarez and Saunders met in the main event of Saturday’s big boxing event at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, the biggest sporting event since the coronavirus pandemic began last year, as over 73,000 people packed into the stadium to watch two of the best boxers in the world go to war. It was a very competitive match for as long as it lasted, though Alvarez was likely winning on points before the fight was stopped due to eighth-round retirement.
