Drake makes $615,000 bet on Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou: “Betting on a scary man”

Famed rapper Drake is rolling with Francis Ngannou to defeat Anthony Joshua in his boxing return.

‘The Predator’ is set to make the walk to the ring in just a few short hours from now. Back for the first time since a split-decision loss to Tyson Fury in his boxing debut last year, Francis Ngannou will face Anthony Joshua. For his part, ‘AJ’ is red-hot heading into the matchup, winning his last three fights.

The British boxer last headed to the ring in December and demolished Otto Wallin inside six rounds. With the victory, Anthony Joshua was expected to meet Deontay Wilder in a long-awaited bout. Instead, he will meet Francis Ngannou, as ‘The Bronze Bomber’ was pulled after an upset loss to Joseph Parker in December.

As of now, the betting odds between the two boxers are close. According to the current line from MGM, Anthony Joshua is a slight -300 favorite. Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou is returning as a +240 underdog for the heavyweight boxing match. With odds like that, Drake just had to get involved.

The popular Canadian rapper is a noted combat sports fan, and even friendly with Francis Ngannou. Over the last few months, Drake’s massive bets on fights have gone viral. Today, the rapper bet $615,000 on the Stake betting app, for Ngannou to defeat Anthony Joshua later today.

Drake bets $615,000 on Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou boxing match

“Betting on a scary man @stake” – Drake wrote in the caption of his Instagram post, betting on Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou.

While Drake is riding with Francis Ngannou to get the victory, there’s no doubt that today’s heavyweight bout has divided fans. It’s also worth noting that the fight itself has very high stakes. The winner of the heavyweight contest is set to potentially meet the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk.

‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘The Cat’ are currently set to go to battle in May, also in Saudi Arabia. Both Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou, have a history with those boxers. ‘AJ’ currently holds two losses to Usyk, while ‘The Predator’ lost to Fury last fall. Both men hope to avenge their losses later this year.
