Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is reportedly jealous over the UFC’s control of the sport of MMA. As the man behind Matchroom Boxing, Hearn has always had an appreciation for the world’s largest MMA promotion, the UFC. The Boxing promoter admitted he is envious over the promotion and its evolving brand, cultivated by UFC President Dana White.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn praises the “genius gameplan” that Tyson Fury executed to seal his TKO victory against Deontay Wilder. On Saturday 22nd February, “The Gypsy King” faced “The Bronze Bomber” in a blockbuster rematch at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Fury maintained constant pressure on the heavy-hitter, knocking him down twice before cornering him in the seventh round. Wilder’s equilibrium was rocked by the onslaught that Fury delivered. Wilder’s corner ultimately threw the towel in the seventh round and the referee called an end to the bout, awarding ‘The Gypsy King’ the TKO victory.

The sports streaming service DAZN is now home to Bellator MMA, Combate Americas, and boxing action featuring superstars like Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua. Fans can access all of that combat sports content for $19.99 a month, or $99.99 for an annual membership. Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn would like to see that rate increase — by a lot. Hearn, who promotes Anthony Joshua, has witnessed DAZN’s recent growth, and believes the service is becoming a must-have for fight fans, particularly those that follow boxing.

The Youtube boxing showdown of KSI vs Logan Paul had the promotional powerhouse of Eddie Hearn and DAZN behind it. However, that wasn’t enough to bolster a UK following as the event received shocking UK PPV numbers. Approximately 12,000 people attended the KSI vs Logan Paul rematch that took place in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The October 9th fight was a rematch of the Youtuber’s 2018 fight which resulted in a draw. KSI won their second fight by a controversial split decision victory.

The Mexican champ shocked viewers when he beat the formerly undefeated unified WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion via stoppage. Anthony Joshua has been putting the time in to train, but Ruiz believes his opponent will be taking time out if he loses again.

The British star left the world shocked when he lost his WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles in his first fight against Ruiz, which went down at Madison Square Garden earlier this year.

As Zuffa Boxing draws nearer and nearer to fruition, White has said that he hopes to apply the same practices that have made the UFC so successful to this new boxing venture. “It’s the sport and the politics in the sport and it has always been that way and if somebody doesn’t change it, it’s always gonna be that way,” White told Helen Yee recently.
