“Listen, I think there’s fan interest and I think that’s what’s brought us to a point where this thing may possibly happen,” Attar said (transcribed by Daily Star).

“But we’ll see, nothing is set in stone. I think it’s one of those things where it’s a work in progress.

“But it’s definitely heading in the right direction.”

UFC President Dana White recently said that he believes Floyd Mayweather will make over $100 million for the fight against McGregor, which meets Mayweather demands of a guaranteed $100 million for a fight. As for McGregor’s purse, White believes that Conor will walk away with around $75 million for his part in the superfight. White also stated that he still has to meet with Team Mayweather to go over the negotiations and lock in a deal.

Helwani tried to dig deeper for more information from Attar but was told that the fight has still not been made official.

“To be honest with you, we still don’t know (if it will happen).

“You’ve got to believe and think about anything you want to do. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that all dreams come true. So I think in relation to that, it’s not done.”
