The combat sports community reacts to news of Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor

The fight is now official. UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will step into the boxing ring to battle undefeated great Floyd Mayweather this August 28 at the T-Mobile Arena in the combat sports mecca of Las Vegas, Nevada. The pair will collide at a catchweight of 154 pounds. They will battle for up to 12 rounds in 10 oz. gloves.

Unsurprisingly, this news sent a quake through the combats worlds, as fans, journalists, and McGregor and Mayweather’s fellow fighters took to social media to share their elation, their disappointment, or their (feigned) disinterest.
