Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley knows he came close to finishing Jake Paul in their first encounter back in August. Woodley (0-1) and Paul (4-0) are set to rematch on December 18th, this after their first bout ended in a controversial split decision win for the YouTuber.

On August 29 of this year, Jake Paul beat Tyron Woodley via split decision to maintain his unbeaten pro boxing record at the expense of the former UFC welterweight champion. On December 18, he was initially scheduled to take on Tommy Fury down in Tampa, Florida.

Fury reportedly sustained an injury in training and because of that, it wasn’t feasible for the two to meet on December 18 as previously planned.

Jake Paul has made it clear there is nothing in the contracts saying his opponent can’t knock him out. Back in August, Tyron Woodley rocked Paul badly but didn’t throw anything of substance after that to finish the job. To no surprise, after the fight, Dillon Danis claimed Woodley had a no knockout rule in his contract which Paul says is not true. Instead, he offered Woodley a $500k bonus if he does knock him out in their rematch on December 18.

Jake Paul has opened as the betting favorite over Tyron Woodley. Paul was originally supposed to box Tommy Fury in the main event of the Showtime boxing pay-per-view on December 18 in Tampa, Florida. Unfortnately, on Monday it was revealed Fury was forced out of the fight due to an injury. Shortly thereafter, it was revealed Paul would be rematching Woodley, who took the fight on 12 days’ notice.

Boxing legend Tyson Fury claimed that his brother Tommy played possum against Anthony Taylor in order to secure the fight with Jake Paul. The younger Fury meets Paul on December 18 in what is expected to be one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year to close out 2021. Back in August, Paul defeated former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, for the biggest win of his career. On the undercard for that boxing event was a matchup between the younger Fury and Taylor, who is a former Bellator MMA fighter. Although Fury was a big favorite to defeat Taylor and he did so, he did not get the knockout despite having more skills, power, and experience in boxing. If you ask the older Fury, that’s because his younger brother was playing possum.

Jake Paul has reportedly declined to have drug testing ahead of his upcoming fight against Tommy Fury. Fury’s dad, John Fury, recently revealed in an interview with Marca that Paul and his team declined drug testing for the fight. Fury’s team was pushing for VADA (voluntarily anti-doping association) to handle the drug testing which was shot down.

UFC welterweight superstar Nate Diaz took a shot at Jake Paul, telling the YouTuber-turned-boxer that “you can’t really fight.” Diaz and Paul have been going back-and-forth on social media and in interviews for the last little while, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that they continued to take shots this week. It all came after Diaz responded to an article about Paul, where his former opponent Ben Askren gave him credit for being a good boxer. Diaz saw the comments and replied right away, telling him that these comments are coming from a retired wrestler who can’t box, and therefore they don’t mean anything. That led to Paul then returning fire by telling Diaz that he has a bunch of losses on his resume, and then Diaz took a shot at Paul.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul declined a rematch with Tyron Woodley, saying that “by the time he got the tattoo we had already moved on.” Paul defeated Woodley via split decision in a high-profile boxing match that took place at the end of the summer. It was a close fight, but ultimately Paul was more active throughout the contest and won the fight on the judges’ scorecards. Immediately after being announced as the loser of the fight, Woodley told Paul in the ring that he wanted to have a rematch. The deal was that if Woodley got the tattoo for losing to Paul that he would get to fight him a second time. Woodley eventually got the tattoo of “I Love Jake Paul” tattooed onto his finger, but by the time he got the tattoo, Paul had already moved on from him.

Chimaev (10-0 MMA) made his highly anticipated return to the Octagon last month at UFC 267, where he made quick work of ranked welterweight Li Jingliang (see that here). The win marked Chimaev’s fourth under the UFC banner, with his previous victory coming in just 18-seconds over Gerald Meerschaert (see that here).
