Tommy Fury vows to beat Jake Paul again when healed from surgery: “He’s getting too much momentum again”
Tommy Fury hopes to meet Jake Paul in the boxing ring again later this year.
‘TNT’ has been out of the boxing ring since a clash with YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI in October. For Tommy Fury, the bout was his second in a row against an influencer. Earlier in the year, the British boxer faced Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia and handed ‘The Problem Child’ his first loss by split decision.
On Misfits Boxing pay-per-view last fall, Tommy Fury handed ‘The Nightmare’ a unanimous decision loss. The win itself was somewhat controversial, and KSI called for a rematch with the British star. However, any potential rematch was put on the backburner, as Fury was forced to get hand surgery post-fight.
As of now, Tommy Fury is still healing from surgery but is hoping to return in the coming months. In a recent interview, ‘TNT’ was asked about his boxing future. There, the undefeated boxer showed interest in a rematch with Jake Paul, while completely shooting down a second bout with KSI.
For his part, Jake Paul is coming off a knockout win over Ryan Bourland last Saturday. The fight itself was panned for its noncompetitive nature, with Michael Bisping and others slamming the YouTuber. Tommy Fury wasn’t a fan of the bout either and wants to shut down Paul’s momentum later this year.

“I mean I’m injured at the minute as you can see by the knuckle. As soon as that gets better, I’d love to get out here myself.” Tommy Fury stated in a recent interview with EzeTalksSports, at the Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou press conference in Saudi Arabia. “I’m itching seeing all these guys on the chairs, I just want to be in there myself. But injuries happen and it’s a tough thing to come through but we’re all on the right lines and the recovery is going well.”
He continued, “I don’t know [what’s next]. I don’t know mate, me and Jake Paul we’ve got to run it back you know. I want to knock him out this time. He’s getting too much momentum again. So, I reckon we’re going to tend to that… I mean if [KSI] wants to come and fight this time maybe [it could happen again]. But star jumps don’t win you fights mate.”
He concluded, “KSI, good luck with that one on your record mate!”
