Oleksandr Usyk’s manager, Egis Kilmas, has taken a shot at Tyson Fury for fighting Francis Ngannou. ‘The Cat’ has spent the better part of the last year attempting to score a fight with ‘The Gypsy King’. In December, Tyson Fury scored a knockout win over Derek Chisora, prompting Oleksandr Usyk to take to the ring for a face-off. Ultimately, the moment was supposed to serve as a tease for an April fight at Wembley Stadium.

The Saudi boxing promoter revealed talks are underway to see Fury take on Usyk in the headliner and Deontay Wilder face Anthony Joshua in the co-main event on the same card. It also would not be a tournament, just two heavyweight fights going down on the same night.

Spong (14-0) and Usyk (16-0) were set to go head to head at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois this weekend in what would’ve marked Oleksandr’s official move up to the heavyweight division. The transition has been highly anticipated for a few years now, with Usyk’s swan song as a cruiserweight coming last November when he knocked out Tony Bellew in Manchester.
