Wladimir Klitschko has announced that he will fight for the world heavyweight title by taking up his option for an immediate rematch with new champ Tyson Fury sometime in 2016. Tyson Fury won by unanimous decision against the Ukrainian in Dusseldorf, Germany, to win the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.  The contract for the fight included a clause for a rematch, for which the time and place have yet to be determined. Wladamir Klitschklo talks with bbcnews about his road back to the belt.

Tyson Fury said he would become the heavyweight champion of the world. He was right. The action was limited while Fury worked his jab to control the fight and keep Wladimir Klitschko off balance this Saturday night. Fury connected with more punches landing 86 of 371 punches to Klitschklo’s 52 of 310 punches. The Lancashire puncher ended the reign of boxing’s most dominant heavyweight of the 21st century to capture the WBA Super, WBO and IBF titles in the ESPRIT arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

An affable relationship seems to be forming between UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm and retired boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. The two were seen recently taking pictures together at the NBA game featuring the Warriors and the Clippers. Most recently at the Canelo versus Cotto match that happened over the weekend, Holm had the highest of praise for Mayweather and talked about meeting who she calls boxing’s “greatest of all time.”

Holly Holm has been all over the place since taking the UFC women’s bantamweight championship belt from Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. Holm was in attendance at the Canelo versus Cotto boxing match that happened over the weekend at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) has little time to bask in the glory of winning the WBC middleweight 160 lb. championship title. According to Bloody Elbow, the new champion has just 15 days to make a deal to fight interim champion Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs), or risk being stripped of the title that he took home on Saturday night. After odds opened up at close to -200 for Canelo and +160 for Cotto, the odds are widening for the two prize fighters. As of Tuesday, four days before the fight, Odds Shark has Canelo at -305 and Cotto at +275.
