Pros react after Jake Paul TKO’s Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico
Tonight’s ‘Serrano vs. Meinke’ DAZN Boxing event was co-headlined by a cruiserweight bout between Jake Paul and Ryan Bourland.
The event, which aired exclusively on DAZN, took place live from Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in Suan Juan, Puerto Rico.
‘Paul vs. Bourland’ served as the co-main event of the evening, with the Amanda Serrano and Nina Meinke fight for the unified featherweight world championship headlining the card.
Jake Paul (9-1) was returning to action for the first time since scoring a nasty first-round knockout victory over Andre August this past December. Prior to that, ‘The Problem Child’ was coming off a unanimous decision victory over UFC legend Nate Diaz, which was preceded by his lone career loss where he dropped a split decision to Tommy Fury.
Meanwhile, Ryan Bourland (17-3) was making his twentieth career professional boxing appearance this evening. The 35-year-old had entered tonight’s contest boasting a three-fight winning streak, his most recent being a TKO victory over Santario Martin.
Tonight’s ‘Paul vs. Bourland’ bout resulted in another first-round finish for the fighter known as ‘The Problem Child’. Jake Paul was able to get off to a fast start with his jab, which led to him opening up with some big combinations. After rocking Bourland with a few hard shots, Paul quickly proceeded to swarm in for the finish, which he eventually earned thanks to a barrage of punches (see that here).
