VIDEO | 57-year-old Mike Tyson demolishes the pads in stunning training session
Boxing legend Mike Tyson is still utterly terrifying well into his late 50s.
‘Iron Mike’ hasn’t been seen in the ring since an exhibition boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. That fight was Mike Tyson’s first in over 15 years, and he looked great. While the two men fought to a draw that night on pay-per-view, the former heavyweight champion looked like he hadn’t missed a step.
Since then, Mike Tyson has been consistent regarding another appearance in the boxing ring. If an offer is intriguing enough, he would return. Despite challenges from the likes of Jake Paul and others, the legend hasn’t been interested in fighting again. While that’s the case, Tyson seemingly likes to keep himself in fighting shape.
Earlier today, Mike Tyson’s trainer Rafael Cordeiro, took to social media to show footage of the legend training. The two were in the ring at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, with ‘Iron Mike’ hitting the pads. Despite the boxer just being months away from his 58th birthday, he’s not lost even a bit of his power and speed.

“Another day at office! Thank you for everything my Brother! @miketyson” – The trainer’s caption on his Instagram post read earlier today.
The footage of Mike Tyson in the boxing ring comes amid multiple reports of his return to the sport. In the last month, the former heavyweight was linked to a fight with former Bellator contender Fedor Emelianenko. ‘The Last Emperor’ challenged Tyson to a bout after retiring from MMA last year following a loss to Ryan Bader.
Furthermore, Mike Tyson was linked to a potential boxing match with Mark Hunt as well. ‘The Super Samoan’ retired from fighting following a knockout win over Sonny Bill Williams in late 2022. However, Hunt later exited his retirement and revealed plans to fight in BKFC later this year. Not long after his announcement, Hunt was linked to Tyson.
However, the former heavyweight champion reportedly won’t be fighting either man. Last month, one of Tyson’s representatives shut down reports of boxing matches with both Emelianenko and Hunt. That being said, it seems that the former boxer is preparing for something, just based on his pad footage.
