Conor McGregor: On the floor Nate was swept and controlled
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor suffered his first career octagon defeat to Nate Diaz in the headlining bout of UFC 196 this past March in Las Vegas.
“Mystic Mac” was submitted via rear-naked choke in the second round of his fight with the Stockton native.
However, Conor feels that he was actually doing very well on the ground against Diaz, right up until his gas tank ran out:
On the floor he was swept and controlled.
When the tank goes, no amount of skill can save you.
You will see. https://t.co/vJP4k4qzwX— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 2, 2016
