Fresh off a knockout win over Justin Gaethje at lightweight, Max Holloway returned to featherweight. There, he met newly crowned champion Ilia Topuria, who won the gold from Alexander Volkanovski in February.

In the process, missing out on his shot at re-earning the gold he lost in 2022.

However, Pimblett says he will fight whoever he takes, but he believes he would be two or three fights away from a title shot.

Since then, Charles Oliveira hasn’t booked a return to the cage.

In October of 2023, at UFC 294, Islam Makachev (26-1 MMA) defeated Volkanovski by KO at 3:06 of Round 1. Then again in February of this year at UFC 298, it was the undefeated Ilia Topuria (15-0 MMA) KO’ing ‘The Great’ at 3:32 of Round 2.

Shpigel will be a part of Oliveira’s camp at Chute Boxe Diego Lima and then attend the former titleholder’s fight week preparations and his event booking.
