Jim Miller got his wish of fighting on UFC 300. Miller competed at UFC 100 and 200 and for the past couple of years, he has been campaigning to be on UFC 300. Originally the plan was for Miller to retire at UFC 300, but that is no longer the goal, so he says that has taken a bit away from the spectacle of the event.

Few expected, including Jim Miller himself, for the lightweight to still be fighting today. Given that his professional debut took place in 2005, it’s a miracle that he’s still active. However, Miller is doing more than just fighting in pointless contests.

After Miller scored a submission win, he called out Felder for UFC 300, and ‘The Irish Dragon’ was interested in ending his retirement for the fight. Daniel Cormier still doesn’t think Jim Miller is a UFC Hall of Famer. Miller scored a third-round submission over Gabriel Benitez at UFC Vegas 84 on Saturday to improve to 26-16 and one NC in the UFC. The American has the records for most fights and most wins in the UFC, but despite holding those records, he has never held a title, which Cormier believes is why he shouldn’t be in the Hall of Fame.

UFC CEO Dana White has announced two more fights for UFC 300 including the BMF belt being up for grabs. White took to his Instagram on Tuesday to announce that Justin Gaethje will be defending his BMF belt for the first time against former featherweight king Max Holloway, with the scrap taking place at lightweight. Along with that fight, Jim Miller will get his wish of fighting at UFC 300 as he’ll face Bobby Green.

The Octagon remained in Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 84 event, an 11-bout fight card headlined by Magomed Ankalaev vs. Johnny Walker 2. The highly anticipated light heavyweight rematch proved to be a coming out party for Magomed Ankalaev. After a close opening round, the Russian standout was able to get the better of Johnny Walker early and often in round two. Ankalaev eventually sent Walker crashing to the canvas with a big combination and promptly finished the fight with a follow up right hand (see that here).
