Ovince Saint Preux will not be staying at heavyweight after training with UFC champ Francis Ngannou, saying “I know how to stay in my lane.” Saint Preux returns to the Octagon on Saturday in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 30 when he takes on Tanner Boser in a short-notice heavyweight bout. Saint Preux was originally set to take on Maxim Grishin on this card at light heavyweight, but after Grishin pulled out of the fight with an injury, the UFC asked him to move up to heavyweight to take on Boser and stay on the card. Although Saint Preux only has one heavyweight bout in the UFC to his name, a split decision defeat to Ben Rothwell last year, he had no problem saying yes to the opportunity to move up and fight Boser in order to keep a fight booked.

The UFC announced the traditional post-fight bonuses following the event. Winning bonuses were Saint Preux for his second-round KO over Alonzo Menifield in the co-main event; welterweight Michel Pereira for his third-round submission win over Zelim Imadaev; middleweight Andre Muniz for his first-round armbar submission of Bartosz Fabinski; and featherweight Brian Kelleher for his quick guillotine choke over Ray Rodriguez.

UFC light heavyweight contender Ovince Saint Preux says he wanted to get COVID-19 two months ago so it could get in and out of his system. OSP fought Alonzo Menifield in the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 34 card and knocked him out in devastating fashion in the second round in what was one of the most impressive performances of his career. The fight was originally set to take place two weeks ago but OSP tested positive for COVID-19 and the fight was rescheduled for two weeks later. If you ask OSP, catching COVID-19 wasn’t the issue, it was the timing of it all.

Saint Preux and Jones fought at UFC 197 in 2016 for the interim lightweight title. It was “Bones'” first fight back from USADA suspension and was able to get the decision win.

Saint Preux (24-14 MMA) tested positive and negative for the Coronavirus during fight week, before a positive test this morning ruled out his ability to compete at the event.

A Reddit user got a tattoo with the initials of light heavyweight Ovince Saint Preux “OSP” on it after his latest Von Flue choke victory at UFC Copenhagen. Reddit user Ombliguitoo said he lost a bet that Saint Preux wouldn’t finish Michal Oleksiejczuk with a Von Flue choke. If he lost the bet, he would have to tattoo the initials OSP on his buttocks. Much like Jon Anik when he lost a bet that Nate Diaz wouldn’t beat Conor McGregor, the Reddit user followed through and actually got the tattoo.
