UFC featherweight fighter Ryan Hall released a statement following his much-needed victory over Darrick Minner at UFC 269. Hall entered this fight against Minner, a fellow grappler, coming off of an absolutely brutal KO loss to Ilia Topuria earlier this year at UFC 264. For Hall, he was unbeaten in the UFC heading into that Topuria fight, which really stalled his momentum in the stacked UFC featherweight division. But for Hall, he was looking forward to getting back into the Octagon and righting those wrongs, and he got to do that on Saturday against Minner.

UFC featherweight Ryan Hall returns to the Octagon at UFC 269 when he faces off against fellow grappling ace Darrick Minner. MMAJunkie.com was the first to report that Hall vs. Minner is on tap for UFC 269, which is set to take place on December 11. There is no location or venue set for this event yet, but there have been indications that it will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of UFC 269 features UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira against Dustin Poirier, while the co-main event features Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena.

UFC featherweight Ryan Hall released a statement following his brutal KO loss at UFC 264, saying he broke his hand on the first punch landed. Hall lost in the first round when Ilia Topuria was able to land heavy ground-and-pound and put his lights out. For Hall, it was his first loss in the Octagon as he won his previous four fights in the UFC, including a submission win over former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn. Taking to his social media following the fight, Hall issued a statement about the loss, admitting that he broke his hand on the first punch he landed in the fight.

Hall, who is considered to be one of the best submission specialists in all of mixed martial arts, hasn’t fought since back in July 2019 when he beat Darren Elkins via unanimous decision. He had, however, twice been booked to fight Ricardo Lamas, only for the bout to fall apart on two separate occasions – the latter being due to Hall sustaining an injury.

Hall vs. Lamas was scheduled to take place at the UFC Oklahoma City card that was set for May 2, but the event was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, the UFC has been able to re-book the fight, and Hall vs. Lamas is now set to take place on a UFC Fight Night card at the UFC Apex in its home base of Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 29.

Hall has not fought since he beat Darren Elkins by decision at UFC Sacramento last July in a fight he dominated. Before that, he submitted former two division UFC champion B.J. Penn in his only fight of 2018. The jiu-jitsu wizard is an Ultimate Fighter winner and says his skill set has resulted in opponents turning him down.
