Tonight’s Gamebred Boxing 4 event was co-headlined by a heavyweight fight between Vitor Belfort and Jacare Souza. Belfort (26-14 MMA, 1-0 Boxing) was returning to action for the first time since defeating boxing legend Evander Holyfield via first-round TKO in an exhibition bout in 2021. ‘The Phenom’ was looking to avenge his previous loss to ‘Jacare’ which occurred via TKO at UFC 198 in May of 2016.

Vitor Belfort was hoping to box Roy Jones Jr. at Gamebred Boxing 4. When Belfort was first offered to box on the card, the Brazilian says he was going to headline the card against Jones Jr. in a massive fight for both men. Yet, the former UFC light heavyweight champion revealed Jones Jr. turned him down as he wanted an easier matchup.

Former UFC light-heavyweight titleholder Vitor Belfort is out of his return this weekend. ‘The Phenom’ has had a strange career since exiting the leading MMA promotion in 2018. Following a knockout loss to Lyoto Machida in Brazil, Belfort announced his retirement. By the end of the year, he announced that he wouldn’t be hanging up the gloves after all.

Wanderlei Silva might be retired from MMA, but he’s not retired from boxing. ‘The Axe Murderer’ has been out of action since his knockout loss to Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson in September 2018. Following that defeat, Silva departed from Bellator. He promptly signed with BKFC the following year.

Vitor Belfort believes Jake Paul picked to fight Anderson Silva because it will be easier. The former UFC middleweight champion hasn’t competed in MMA since a May 2018 loss to Lyoto Machida. Following that defeat, Belfort parted ways with the promotion. The 45-year-old then signed with ONE Championship.

Vitor Belfort is stepping back inside the boxing ring and his dance partner will be Hasim Rahman Jr. During an event headlined by popular YouTuber KSI, the matchup was announced for DAZN X Series 002. The bout will be held in Sheffield, England on October 15. KSI’s Misfits Boxing will promote the event.

Jacare Souza has confirmed that his MMA retirement is still ongoing. However, a trip into the squared circle isn’t off the table. The 42-year-old retired from the sport in 2021 following a four-fight losing streak. A technical submission loss to Andre Muniz at UFC 262 saw the middleweight great announce that he was done inside the cage. However, earlier this year, he said that he was going to box instead.

Paulo Costa took to social media this evening where he revealed that UFC legend Vitor Belfort is his biological father. Costa (13-2 MMA) has not competed since going to war with Marvin Vettori in October of 2021. Despite a strong showing, the Brazilian ultimately suffered a decision defeat to the ‘Italian Dream’ that evening.

Jake Paul continued his rise in the boxing world with a violent KO win over Tyron Woodley on Saturday in Tampa, Florida. Paul was originally supposed to fight Tommy Fury but the Brit was forced out of the fight due to an injury. On less than two weeks’ notice, Woodley stepped in, and early on he had some success. It was a lackluster fight but in the end, it was Paul winning by sixth-round KO.

Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort fired back at critics of the recent Evander Holyfield boxing match for Triller Fight Club. Belfort fought Holyfield last month in a controversial professional boxing match for Triller Fight Club. The controversy was two-fold. One, because Holyfield took the fight on short notice for Oscar De La Hoya, and two because Holyfield is 58 years old. Not shockingly, Holyfield was finished in the first round with strikes. There have been plenty of critics towards Belfort and Triller Fight Club since then, and now Belfort is firing back at them.

Triller’s Ryan Kavanaugh has confirmed that they are in talks to rebook Oscar De La Hoya vs Vitor Belfort for Thanksgiving weekend. De La Hoya was initially supposed to take on Belfort earlier this month instead of Evander Holyfield, but was forced to pull out of the contest after coming down with a serious case of COVID-19. Belfort went on to demolish Holyfield inside the first round in what many called a “sideshow” fight that never should’ve taken place.

It’s been over a week since Vitor Belfort dispatched of Evander Holyfield in their boxing exhibition and yet despite the time that’s passed, many fans and critics can’t quite get over the disappointment of seeing the fight actually take place.

Triller Fight Club put on their second legends event but this time around, the pay-per-view buys were not good. In the main event of Triller Fight Club Legends 2, 58-year-old Evander Holyfield stepped up on short notice to take on Vitor Belfort. The co-main event saw Anderson Silva box Tito Ortiz while David Haye also took on Joe Fournier. Despite the fact, the event had a bunch of well-known fighters, the pay-per-view bombed as it only did around 150,000 buys, according to boxing journalist, Dan Rafael.

In the lead-up to Triller Fight Club Legends 2, it was uncertain if the main event between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort was an exhibition. Triller CEO, Ryan Kavanaugh revealed the day before Holyfield would decide if it would be considered a pro bout.

Trump was a special guest at Saturday night’s Triller Fight Club boxing event, providing commentary for the fans and also answering a number of questions. Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort says he wants to “mix the rules” of MMA and boxing following his big win over Evander Holyfield. Belfort finished the boxing legend, Holyfield, with punches in the first round of their pro boxing match at the Triller Fight Club event on Saturday night. Following the event, Belfort was asked what is next for him following the big KO win. As far as Belfort goes, he plans on continuing to box now that he’s gotten the big win over Holyfield in his back pocket. But it’s Belfort’s goal to create a hybrid sport that combines both the aspects of MMA and boxing, primarily in the clinch, where Belfort says he hopes to continue his fighting career.
