Dana White: “100 percent” Rousey will fight in 2016
There has been much speculation as to how long Ronda Rousey would stay away from the Octagon following her UFC 193 KO loss to Holly Holm.
While the UFC brass wanted Rousey to fight at UFC 200, a delay in filming for an upcoming movie means Rousey won’t have enough time to prepare for a fight at the event.
However, in an interview with SI Now, White explained that Rousey will still without a doubt fight in 2016.
“She’ll fight in 2016. 100 percent. That’s all we’ve got. Obviously we were looking for her to fight at UFC 200, but that’s not going to happen. After 200 happens we’ll look and see what went on, what she’s got going on. If there’s any human being that deserves some time off it’s Ronda Rousey.”
Given the brutality of the KO, and Rousey’s busy schedule, many have wondered if she will ever return to the Octagon, something UFC President Dana White says he would be okay with.
“I’m cool with that. I care about Ronda and all the people here at the UFC as a person. The minute you start doubting whether you should fight or not, you probably shouldn’t.”
