Recently, we learned that heavyweight legend Mark Hunt had painted his chest with a new and beautifully done tattoo. With this new ink, which joins to half-sleeves, Hunt enters the books as one of the most heavily tattooed fighters in the UFC, if not in all of MMA.

MMA, of course, is chock full of tattooed fighters.

Some of these fighters boast just a small amount of ink, like Georges St-Pierre. Others, like Conor McGregor and Cody Garbrandt, have had a medium amount of work done, with plenty of skin still visible. And then, there are the tattoo addicts of the mixed martial arts world: fighters who are as recognizable for their tattoos as they are for their skill.

Without further ado, here are five of the most heavily – and beautifully – tattooed fighters in the game.

Benson Henderson

Former UFC lightweight champion and current Bellator lightweight contender Benson Henderson has a bit of work on his arm, and some on his ribs. The real art on Henderson’s body, however, is on his back, which is plastered with a massive pair of angels wings. Check Henderson’s massive, faith-inspired tattoo above.

Alessio Sakara

Benson Henderson isn’t the only heavily tattooed fighter on the Bellator MMA Roster. Italy’s Alessio Sakara, who has gone 2-0 since joining the promotion’s light heavyweight division, is about as inked as they come. The UFC veteran’s body – particularly his back – is adorned with tributes to his Roman heritage. His dog, Saki, is also immortalized in portraiture on his body.

Scott Jorgensen

Former WEC bantamweight title challenger and long-time UFC star Scott Jorgensen has also had some beautiful work done over the years. Jorgensen’s work is particularly notable for its incredible color. Check his extensive tattooing out above!

Ross Pearson

English UFC lightweight Ross Pearson – who has also competed in the promotion’s featherweight and welterweight divisions – has some awesome tattoos. And these tattoos aren’t just on his torso. The Brit has also had lots of high-quality work done on his shins and calves.

Japanese MMA legend Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, who is the mentor of the talented Kyoji Horiguchi, boasts some of the coolest tattoos in MMA. Kid’s work extends from his collar bone, down onto his chest and abdomen and down the entire lengths of both his arms. Check out the incredibly detailed artwork on the body of this unheralded MMA legend above.
