Mike Perry and Al Iaquinta trade shots on Twitter
UFC welterweight Mike Perry, and UFC lightweight Al Iaquinta have continued to trade shots on social media for quite some time. This week, the pair’s beef escalated once again when Perry mentioned Iaquinta in a tweet while calling out Thiago Alves for a welterweight showdown:
@ALIAQUINTA is just tryin to get paid for fightin a bigger guy, I think he know the @ufc won't offer, the real fight is @ThiagoAlvesATT #🔥

Perry is coming off a destructive KO win over Jake Ellenberger back in April, which returned him to the win column after suffering the first defeat of his professional career at the hands of Alan Jouban in December of 2016. That loss snapped Perry’s 9 fight win streak that had seen him go 2-0 in the UFC, picking up back to back KO wins.
On the flip side, Al Iaquinta recently returned to the Octagon from a two year long hiatus stemming from a contract dispute with the UFC. In the midst of a 4-fight win streak, Iaquinta’s momentum was quickly halted by contract negotiations, which resulted in Iaquinta ‘retiring’ from MMA, before then ultimately returning to the Octagon in April, where he picked up a KO win over Diego Sanchez.
