VIDEO | Frustrated Alan Jouban wants spot in the welterweight rankings

Tom Taylor - December 19, 2016

https://youtu.be/l7hJ1cS87NQ Last Saturday, in the first fight of UFC on Fox 22, fan favorite welterweight Alan Jouban handed “Platinum” Mike Perry the first loss of his career with a lopsided unanimous decision win. With this victory, Jouban extended his win-streak to three, and his UFC record to a strong 6-2. Three of those UFC wins have come by way of first-round knockout, and three earned him Fight of the Night honors.

After loss in Sacramento, "Platinum" Mike Perry requests rematch with Alan Jouban

Tom Taylor - December 18, 2016

One of the most anticipated features of Saturday’s UFC on Fox 22 lineup was a welterweight showdown between scrappy fan favorites Mike Perry and Alan Jouban. Given the pair’s proven propensity for violence, the possibility of a knockout in this fight seemed high. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a knockout. In fact, we didn’t even get an especially competitive fight. Instead, Jouban soundly out-struck Perry for three rounds, battering him with a diversified Muay Thai attack and staying out of the way of his crippling power punches. The end result, then, was a clear-cut decision win for Jouban.

On December 17, at UFC on Fox 22, fan favorite welterweight prospects Alan Jouban and Mike Perry are scheduled to do battle. Given the pair’s shared propensity for violence and excitement, this is one of the most anticipated fights on the MMA horizon. In advance of this anticipated showdown, Jouban and Perry have been involved in quite a few heated exchanges on Twitter. As the fight draws ever closer, however, Jouban is beginning to tire of the ceaseless trash talk from Perry. He explained this feeling on the latest episode of the MMA Roasted podcast.

Alan Jouban offers to step in and fight Donald Cerrone

bjpenndotcom - November 11, 2016

Friday morning the MMA community learned that Kelvin Gastelum had missed weight, and his UFC 205 fight with Donald Cerrone was subsequently cancelled as a result of him being unable to make weight. While Cerrone weighed-in at 170 pounds, Gastelum never stepped on the scale for the fight, withdrawing from the fight before ever attempting to hit the scales. While the MMA community was extremely saddened by the news of the fight being cancelled due to Gastelum’s inability to make weight, welterweight fighter Alan Jouban is currently in New York for the event, and is ready and willing to step in on short notice to fight Cowboy at the event despite the fact that he would have to fight tomorrow evening.
