Alexander Volkanovski shares his prediction for Max Holloway vs. Justin Gaethje at UFC 300: “I do not think it’s going to be a whitewash”

By Harry Kettle - February 8, 2024

Alexander Volkanovski has given his thoughts on the upcoming showdown between Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje.

Max Holloway

At UFC 300, Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje will collide for the BMF championship. As you can imagine, there’s a great deal of anticipation for this meeting. Both men are electric fighters and have the potential to make magic happen in the Octagon.

Holloway is stepping up to lightweight, whereas Gaethje is coming off the back of a violent KO win over Dustin Poirier. In the eyes of many, the winner could be next in line for a lightweight championship opportunity.

One man who knows Max, in particular, is Alexander Volkanovski. In a recent interview, he gave a prediction for this contest.

Volkanovski predicts Holloway/Gaethje

“Max’s chin is just legendary. Trust me, I’ve been trying to bloody crack that thing for how long now,” Volkanovski said. “If anyone can do it, is it someone like Gaethje, a heavier division and someone that you know is going to put 110 percent into shots that are there?

“You know Max is going to be there the whole time, and he’s shown in some of his fights that he’s mixing it up a lot more, using a lot more tools. It’s going to be interesting. I’m really looking forward to it. If I had to lean towards someone, probably Gaethje, but I do not think it’s going to be a whitewash. I think Max is in for a big chance here.”
