Amanda Nunes pulled from UFC 213
Unfortunate news surfaced Saturday morning that UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes had been hospitalized ahead of her UFC 213 title defense against Valentina Shevchenko tonight.
Shortly after, MMAJunkie’s John Morgan confirmed with UFC President Dana White that Nunes was indeed off the card. Interestingly enough, UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk attempted to convince White to allow her to step in for Nunes to fight Shevchenko, who she has competed against Shevchenko in the Muay Thai world.
UPDATE: Dana White confirms with @MMAjunkie that Nunes it out of the UFC 213 headliner. Whittaker-Romero is new main event. https://t.co/fmK8dzmMRw

Just spoke with @danawhite, and he said @joannamma was begging him to step in and take the fight. NSAC would never allow, but #gangster. https://t.co/Len2uQg0wM
