Amanda Ribas is ready to prove her UFC Vegas 89 fight against Rose Namajunas deserves to be the main event.

Ribas and Namajunas are set to headline the card on Saturday in a very intriguing matchup. Namajunas is looking to avoid her first three-fight losing streak of her career, while Ribas is looking for the biggest win of her career. However, heading into the bout, Ribas has heard the talk that the fight isn’t main event worthy, so the Brazilian is looking to prove those fans wrong.

“This is special because it is the main event. I trained more to be prepared for five rounds if needed. I’m prepared for all – to do five rounds, to the end or the beginning. I’m training to do a war and do a really good fight for the fans to enjoy and say this is worth being a main event,” Ribas said at UFC Vegas 89 media day.

This will be Ribas’ first time as a headliner in the UFC. She enters the fight as the betting underdog against Rose Namajunas but the Brazilian has full confidence that she has all the tools to get her hand raised. But, she knows beating Namajunas won’t be easy as she’s expecting ‘Thug’ to be the best version of herself with her back against the wall.

“I always put in my mind that I will fight the best Rose Namajunas ever,” Ribas said. “I’m training for the best in her. If something comes not like this, I’m prepared.”

If Amanda Ribas can pull off the upset, she knows she will be back in the title picture at flyweight. The Brazilian enters the fight coming off a TKO win over Luana Pinheiro. However, she is just 3-3 in her last six so Ribas is looking to start a streak as he’s alternated wins and losses as of later.
