Chael Sonnen: “Uriah Hall is going to fight Anderson Silva at UFC 200”
According to former UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen, a highly anticipated middleweight fight between Uriah Hall (12-6 MMA) and Anderson Silva (33-7 MMA) will take place at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event in Las Vegas.
No official announcement has been made by the UFC, but this is what Sonnen had to say during his “You’re Welcome” podcast:
“There are up and comers all the time. Uriah Hall’s going to fight Anderson Silva at UFC 200. If Uriah Hall wins, he might be the guy (to challenge for the title next).”
Hall and Silva were originally slated to fight at UFC 198 in May. However, Anderson fell ill and actually required surgery, so the fight was called off.
Uriah Hall is coming off a decision loss to Robert Whittaker, which took place at November’s UFC 193 event. Prior to that, “Primetime” was coming off an impressive TKO victory over former Strikeforce champ Gegard Mousasi.
Meanwhile, Anderson Silva will return to the octagon for the first time since losing a decision to Michael Bisping in February. “The Spider’s” last octagon victory came at UFC 153 in October of 2012 over Stephan Bonner.
