VIDEO | Anderson Silva fought Daniel Cormier for $6 million at UFC 200?

By Russell Ess - July 13, 2016

Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva stepped in on two days notice to help save a huge fight from being cut from UFC 200 and took one of the toughest tasks of his career, going up against UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

Silva said he took the fight to challenge himself and took the challenge going up a weight class against the reigning champion.

While Silva may have wanted the challenge to test his skills as a martial artist, getting paid a huge sum of money may have also helped him make the decision.

Former UFC title contender and MMA analyst Chael Sonnen mentioned on “The Fighter and the Kid” podcast that Silva had a price tag of $6 million dollars to fight Cormier on two days notice (at 1:42:30 of the video)
