Askren Not Retiring Until He Fights GSP
Yesterday during the UFC on FOX 9 pre-fight press conference, UFC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis said he thought his teammate and wrestling coach, Ben Askren, was on the verge of retirement.
“One guy who is on the main stage, ready, is Ben Askren. He’s stuck between Bellator and the UFC, thinking about retiring,” said the UFC champ. He’s one of the best guys I’ve ever trained with…I don’t want to see him get lost between organizations.”
Askren, who is the Bellator promotion’s welterweight champion, took to twitter to clear the air on his career intentions:
Not retiring yet, still 1 person I want to beat up. @GeorgesStPierre @ufc @danawhite

Once I figured out GSPs dark place didn't really exist I knew he would be easy prey!

Seriously though GSP in 2009 prob would have beat me, but this current version fights way too scared!

I will lay on GSP for as long as I damn well please.
