Bellator MMA releases 7 fighters, including UFC vet

Tuesday morning, Bellator MMA announced that they had released 7 fighters from the promotion.

MMAJunkie confirmed the story, which revealed that the following fighters were released:

Mike Richman
Dave Jansen
Houston Alexander
Mikkel Parlo
Raphael Butler
Isao Kobayashi
Thiago Goncalves Jambo

Houston Alexander, who is a UFC veteran, went just 1-5 during his stint with Bellator, most recently dropping a TKO loss to Guilherme Viana. The most shocking name on the list however, is Dave Jansen. The 36-year-old compiled a 7-2 record with the promotion over 5 years, going on a 5-fight win streak before losing two title fights in a row.

So far no word yet on where the above mentioned fighters will go, however Thiago Gonvalves Jambo retired back in June after being knocked out by Chidi Njokuani at Bellator 156.
