Champion Will Brooks trashes Bellator for poor promotion
It was arguably one of the biggest events in Bellator history on Saturday night when the mixed martial arts promotion and GLORY joined forces for the first “DYNAMITE” event in California. The card featured a slew of matches including one night light heavyweight tournament and a light heavyweight championship bout featuring Liam McGeary and Tito Ortiz.
Bellator Champion Will Brooks felt like he and other champions were left in the dark in favor of other fighters making their first appearance in the cage, jumping ship from the UFC. While fighters like Phil Davis, Fedor Emelianenko and Josh Thomson got some much-deserved airtime for their fantastic performances, home-grown talent Brooks wasn’t happy former UFC talent got all the attention. Brooks took to social media to voice his disproval:
I've watched these new guys come over and get the royal treatment. While me and the other champions get the should shrug treatment.

I respect the changes Bellator has been making things are a lot better then before but there's more work to be done

There needs to be more respect shown by the organization and the fans to me and the other fighters that were here before these new cats.

We work our ass off for this organization and I feel like the new guys get more respect than me and the other guys that have been here

Brooks headlines Bellator 145 and will be defending his Bellator Lightweight Championship against Marcin Held. The fight is set to take place on November 6, 2015 in St. Louis.
