Kimbo: ‘I Can Defend Some Shi*t On The Ground’
“Over the time, over the years, I’ve found a comfort zone on the ground. I’m not saying I’m ground savvy or anything, but I can defend some sh*t you know. I can stuff a takedown, I can feel something coming. I can feel the ankle lock coming, I can feel something coming on, scoot my hips out and get an underhook. I can feel these things.”
That’s Kimbo Slice explaining his improved ground game to the media, prior to his fight with Ken Shamrock. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Kimbo in an MMA fight, so his submission defense is still in question.
Of course we know what Kimbo wants to do and what he’s good at, throwing hands, but what happens when the MMA vet, Shamrock, tries to get the fight to the ground? We will find out tonight?
