Kimbo Slice: ‘I’m Gonna Break Shamrock’s Jaw and End His Career’
Kimbo Slice is ready to make his return to mixed martial arts competition. It has been over five years since Slice stepped foot inside of a cage for professional competition and at Bellator 138, he will be standing toe-to-toe with a legend of the sport.
Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice will headline Bellator’s event on June 19 which is set to air live on SPIKE. Slice recently sat down with Jim Ross on “The Ross Report” and made some big claims leading into his big fight with Shamrock.
“Shamrock is still a threat to me,” said Slice. “He’s still considered deadly and dangerous to break limbs and submit somebody. I’m just not that mother f****r he’s going to submit. I’m just not that guy he’s going to tap out. It’s not going to happen with me. It’s in my DNA to beat his ass.”
As a matter of fact, Slice has never been submitted in his six fight mixed martial arts career. He rocks a record of 4-2, but has been keeping busy by competing in professional boxing. The multi-sport star is tired of being criticized of his age; at 41 years old, he is in amazing shape.
“A lot of people … not a lot of people, actually, just a select few normally just talk about the age as if it’s a f*****g factor and it’s not,” said Slice. “Bernard Hopkins is the man at 52 years old [actually 50]. The head coach at American Top [Team], Ricardo Liborio, he’s over 50 [actually 47] and can f*****g can anybody. Even these prize fighters that fight for the UFC and like myself in Bellator, he can’t be touched.”
Shamrock claims Slice will be the beginning of a resurgance of his career, but Slice claims he’s going to cut his career short with their fight at Bellator 138.
“That’s not going to happen, said Slice. “I’m going to go ahead and end it. I’m going to end his career. That’s my plan, that’s my goal. I trained too hard for this. I waited too long for this fight. June 19 can’t come any faster.”
