“I believe it would probably be the mystique of everything (and) a lot of people can relate to my come-up. A lot of people can relate to my triumph. They feel the dedication, the loyalty, the commitment of someone trying to do something great, or to prove to something either to yourself or your kids. You have to be committed to something. To see that, knowing my story, where I came from, how I started in the game, people can relate to that.”

Bellator MMA’s Kimbo Slice recently talked to MMAFighting about his popularity and gave his reasons for why fans seem to enjoy watching him fight.

Slice’s popularity began when internet videos of his backyard brawls went viral. Then he found his way into MMA, made it onto TUF and into the UFC. Now, the big puncher is fighting in Bellator and going up against Ken Shamrock this Friday.
