BREAKING! BJ Penn targeted to return at UFC Manila this October
Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn will return to the octagon on October 15 in Manila, Philippines, when he meets former UFC featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas.
The UFC Hall of Fame fighter, Penn, has not stepped foot in the cage since his July 2014 loss to Frankie Edgar.
The BJ Penn vs. Ricardo Lamas bout will take place in the UFC’s featherweight division (145-pounds).
Ricardo Lamas was last seen in action at June’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to top contender Max Holloway. Prior to that, “The Bully” was coming off a unanimous decision victory over Diego Sanchez in November of 2015. Lamas has gone 3-2 in his last five octagon appearances.
