It did not take long for Brendan Allen to respond to reigning UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis. Allen (24-6 MMA) returned to action in the co-headliner of today’s UFC Paris event for a middleweight showdown with Nassourdine Imavov (15-4 MMA).

UFC middleweight contender Brendan Allen says he was offered to fight Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Paris but he’s no longer interested in that. It was recently announced that Benoit Saint-Denis will be taking on Renato Moicano in a five-round fight, which will likely serve as the main event. With that bout expected serve as the event headliner, Allen says he is no longer interested in fighting Imavov in Paris, as he wants to be showcased in a main event setting.

Brendan Allen doesn’t see a need in getting rebooked against Marvin Vettori. Allen was booked to face Vettori back in April, but the Italian was forced out of the bout. Chris Curtis stepped up on short notice to face ‘All In’ in the main event of the card. Following Allen getting the decision win over Curtis, he believes he’s past Vettori and doesn’t see a need to fight him.

Allen is set to headline UFC Vegas 90 on Saturday when he takes on Curtis, who took the fight on short notice, this after Marvin Vettori was forced to withdraw from the bout due to an injury. Although Allen is fighting down in the rankings, it’s a chance for him to avenge a loss as he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Curtis back in 2021.

Marvin Vettori has a message for Brendan Allen after being forced off their planned UFC Vegas 90 main event. Vettori suffered an injury, and it’s something he called a “freak accident.” Vettori ended up being replaced by Chris Curtis. While the one-time UFC middleweight title challenger won’t be facing Brendan Allen on April 6, he says he wants the fight once he’s healthy enough to return to the Octagon.

It was revealed on Thursday that Marvin Vettori was out of his main event fight against Allen. Allen is scheduled to collide with Marvin Vettori at a UFC Fight Night event on April 6. Allen is riding a six-fight winning streak and he is hoping to make a strong case for a shot at the 185-pound gold held by Dricus Du Plessis. Vettori will be fighting to return to the middleweight title conversation. Vettori has had losses to Israel Adesanya, Robert Whittaker, and Jared Cannonier. While those are three outstanding 185-pounders, Vettori wants to show that he can win those type of fights.

Vettori, 30, most recent unanimous decision victories have come against Roman Dolidze (12-2 MMA), Paulo Costa (14-2 MMA) and Kevin Holland (25-10 MMA).
